I have to really congratulate my Seller client for the sale of this property in Richmond. It was a tough one to sell since we had to list at the beginning of the pandemic, when most people were told to stay indoors and to avoid being in close proximity to other people or in spaces with people you don’t know. JUST. STAY. HOME. The province of BC went into a semi-shut-down. The world just…almost stopped running, quite literally. People faced job losses or reduced income. The future was uncertain for many.
In such a difficult market, Buyers certainly hit the pause button. Everything stood still. The real estate market froze. But what didn’t freeze was time. My Sellers were motivated to sell and the clock kept ticking.
I knew I really had to buckle down and work the hardest I’ve ever worked to get this property sold. Over 50 showings were done while constant modifications and minor improvements were done to please and satisfy the Buyers’ eyes. The location is phenomenal and the price is just too good to be true.
Still — no offers for weeks.
Months passed. We got a couple of offers but they were very far from the asking price. My client were feeling jaded but they never EVER once complained. They kept up their spirit and I gave them the confidence that this would be DONE IN TIME.
More months passed and BC gradually “reopened”. Suddenly, Buyer activity picked up and my phone was ringing off the hook with requests for showings! Then one day, we received multiple offers and my client accepted the best one!
Talk about roller-coaster of a ride! But I GOT IT DONE! WE got it done.
It felt like a load of bricks off their shoulders. I was so happy I wanted to cry for them. They could finally move on to the next chapter of their lives.
